    Brass Multi-bud vase

Obviously not a high quality piece, but does anyone have any idea "who, what and when" regarding what seems to be a triple-bud vase? Appears to be made of molded brass. The foliage is attached with screws, and it is water tight.

7.25" tall, base is 3.5" in diameter not including the feet. Each tube is just over .75" in diameter.

My initial reaction to the rather clunky and ungraceful design is mid 1950's to early 1960's but it "feels" older (if that makes any sense?).

Looks as if it is gold plated. If it is naked brass, then lacquered, because it shows no atmospheric discolouring at all, which on untreated brass would make it fresh out of the factory.

Looks like 3/4" ID (inner diameter) copper pipe was used?
Like the type of tubing used for water pipes?

It resembles a hodgepodge mismoch handmade decorative thingy to me.

I would think that drilling a screw hole low through the pipe would kind of negate using it to hold water and flower buds..?

The holes for the screws are very shallow - they do not go all the way to the inner surface. It does hold water. I am more surprised that is does not leak around the bottom edges, but I can not see how it is sealed from the outside. And to respond to AF's point, there is a tiny bit of greening where one of the "pipes" meets the base - very tiny, but it is there.
