    What is this mark?
Is it Meissen? I can't find anything similar on t'net.

I did find a similar piece that said:-

"A superb modelled porcelain figure of Catherine the great, the figure on horseback with world globe and a open book on the ground, orb and sceptre in her hands and a crown on her head, the blue undeclared cross mark with a line through it is a Russian porcelain Mark, I just cannot locate the precise factory."

Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thank you

say_it_slowly The worst prison is a closed heart

I think that may be an Edme Samson mark also. This is from Röntgen's book of marks.

    It's a tough one, I agree.

Wikipedia (hardly the font of all knowledge, I realise) says "Edmé Samson (b Paris, 1810; d Paris, 1891), founder of the porcelain firm Samson, Edmé et Cie was a famous copyist (and perhaps forger) of porcelain"

Samson was a favoured Meissen copyist (a generous term).

Says here this is the mark used for Meissen copys.

Interesting. I think the piece is very Meissen-esque so very probably Sansom.

I'm a glassie, what? Burnt Dirt? don't know nothing about it.

BUT, Two blue crossed swords? Fake Meissen, without a doubt.

Now, I know they're not ALL fake, but what's the chance the one I hold is real??? pretty slim.
