    ....or as the Brits call it, "the Plough" - no idea what the thing is though, part of something else .. maybe the central boss of a shield?

    8.5 cm = 3-1/2" ....250 grams = 1/2lb BTW

    But does look like a constellation outline. Couldn't recognize any astrological/astronomical signs on the top, although, again, a resemblance.

    Is this one solid piece? Hollow? is that bump on the top a lid? On the large side for an amulet.

    Is this a sleeping cat?

    I think it is the top to an incense burner.
    Ties to astrology or wicca.

    Maybe newer as in last 20 years. Just guessing.

    Adding:
    Maybe not incense, but lid to some sort of jar.
