What is this tool?

Bought recently at a yard sale. It was in a box of pliers and other stuff that I recognized but I don't think the stuff was in any way related. The blade shapes remind me of tools that I have been told were "erasors" rather scrapers for draftsmen - the mistakes were scraped off the vellum. This thing with 3 different sized blades does not seem to fit the requirements of that kind of tool. Any ideas?

    It's a Bloodletting/ phlebotomy tool.

I had that thought as well but why the three sizes? They are not all that different in size and I think one size would have fit all.

I just now searched blood letting knife and sure enough, there it is.

Welcome, Gazz. Something about the outcome of your inquiry makes it feel like a hazing for a new initiate. Bet you never saw that coming!

Of course with this bunch.... Technically, that's a "fleem" if memory serves. I've never seen it written down, only heard the name. Bloodletting used to be a treatment for some diseases, when people didn't know it would actually make things worse.

    "would actually make thing worse"
Especially if it has been kicking around in a box with pliers and other tools.

Actually, "fleam." "Fleem" is one of many variants -- none of which I am anxious to meet in the flesh!

    (So to speak...)

    I've never needed a fleam/fleem; I've always had cats!
