Featured What is this stone or whatever you call it?

    I am thinking this is man-made something. Opal doublet or? I’ve never seen it other than the Mexican water opals that are blue

    You're right, it's synthetic opal. Most varieties are more white, blue or green.
    Usually it's sliced across the grain, giving the stone a spotty look, more like a natural opal. But the pieces in this bracelet appear to be cut length wise along the grain, so it has a striped appearance.
    It's a wild color, isn't it?
