Hi there, I recently inherited this ring but I have no idea about its provenance. The metal is very soft but doesn't turn my finger green or black. The stones are particularly sparkly. Any ideas?

It looks like 1950s gold-filled and rhinestone. at least from the top. There might be more marks on the back, but those look like classic early 50s rhinestones.

Thanks for your suggestion, evelyb30! There don't appear to be any hallmarks or markings on the back. The lattice design seems really unusual too.

I've seen it before, on costume jewelry made within 10 years of WWII.

    Agree, 50s, and rhinestones.

Here is one that was my Aunt's. I thought it was something her husband brought back after WW II, but I'm not sure when they started marking "Western Germany". As you can see, this one is marked underneath in the small circle IMG_7422.jpg IMG_7429.jpg IMG_7431.jpg . Maybe yours is too?

Wow, that's really similar! Here's the back of mine. No Western Germany mark, as you can see, but perhaps it came off?

Looks like yours never had it, but it is probably by the same maker.
Europe was slightly earlier with this kind of design than North America, so it is a few years older than evelyb and I initially thought. The design is related to the 'tank ring'. There is something on tank rings in this thread (and some others):
