  1. Hi guys,

I have another old tool found at an estate sale. Can someone please help me identify what this is please and what year it's from? Is this used for woodworking?

Back inna day, wooden crates & boxes were used as shipping containers, by horse or mule, wagon, coach or rail. The markings that showed the from an' to addresses, etc., were painted or stenciled directly on those flat surfaces. After receipt, most of the containers were 'recycled' by using that tool (which worked either by pulling or pushing the head over the old information) to expose a fresh surface upon which to paint new information...repeat as necessary, to save a buck!
