What is this glass?

    What is this glass?
    Broken.

    What was it used for?
    Not a door knob, more like a pull for a chain.

    I have to agree with the button idea, or the pull chain.
    It doesn't look broken/just cracked on the end, and it does look like there are indents leading to the hole.

    Looks like there was something broken off.
    Kind of looks like someone drilled a hole to put the copper wire through and in so doing cracked the whatever it used to be.
