What is the purpose these items?

    DSC_0641 copy.jpeg DSC_0634 copy.jpeg DSC_0631 copy.jpeg DSC_0622.JPG DSC_0623 copy.jpeg At first I thought the needles and the bottles were opium related items, but now I don't think so. The little purse opens and the weight is marked.

    The "little purse" is probably a Tibetan fire starter kit. The pouch would be for holding the flint, and the iron striker is the curved part along the bottom edge.

    Exactly what they are. I have one too, although I am trying to limit my betel related items to Indonesia.
    That's right as well, I have a few, one of them still has a piece of flint.

    All authentic. The lime containers could be from Laos.

    Are those hair pins or some sort of skewer ? Chinese ?

    Madurese women wore small kerises in their hair for the same reason.;)
    They were often alone for long periods of time, while the men made a living in maritime trade. Many women were traders (on land), so they met all sorts. An extra keris comes in handy sometimes.:playful:
