What is the origin of this judge piggy bank?

    Hello, all. This is a vintage piggy bank that has been in the family for over 20 years. My guess is that it was a novelty gift, and was already old.

    It is about 6" high, and the ceramic material is fairly lightweight and thin. Only a tiny corner of the sticker label remains, underneath, as depicted in the top photo.

    My totally wild guess is that it is post WWII (maybe 1950s) and is foreign, perhaps made in Japan. The rubber stopper on the bottom is not pliable any more, and I suspect it will crumble if I try to remove it. There are no discernible markings on it.

    It does appear to be hand-painted, and the yellow/brown color you see on the side is from the paint/glaze, not discoloration or dirt.

    Any thoughts as to who made it, when and where?

    I think the sticker said Made in Japan and 50's at the earliest would make some sense.
