What is the name of this type painting

    I have known it before but the word eludes me, what is this type of cloth painting called? I think it is on silk. The yellowish color is gold leaf. 18"H X 19"W. Also if anyone knows what/where the scene depicts, aside from the obvious :) From India I think. Old or new(best guess).

    It is Thai imo, but not a thangka. A thangka is a scroll painting from the Himalayan region.
