No idea if this is the right forum to put this in but it's a good start. It's a friend of mine's and no idea what it is. This is the sellers picture so I can't take any more. Any guesses? Nothing comes up on Google search for me.............

They say no markings but there's clearly something on the main section. Knowing if that detached piece can actually fit somewhere onto the main section might also help. The case seems generic to a lot of testing type equipment.
I can only see 1 picture. It seems like there should have been 4. Anyway, my thought is the round part with the 3 protrusions could be a tripod. The legs may telescope out. and the c scope looking part may be attachable. Which brings me to guess that it may be some sort of surveying tool. Bud that's just a WAG.
