Featured What era is this pendant/necklace, should I consider it?

    Someone is selling this locally. Who knows if it is even still available, but possible I'll get a call tomorrow.

    Ad says, "amethyst in gold setting". Well, gold setting can mean a lot of things, gold colored, 10K, etc. I did say I was possibly interested, and wondered if "gold setting" meant 14K or if the piece was marked at all. Is this an older piece? They listed under "antiques". Would also love to know what era this might be and/or some descriptive words so I can do some comparison research before tomorrow! Thanks.

    I thought that too -- could be the photo lightning, but something to check for sure!

    Amethyst color goes from Rose de France to Siberian,light purple to very dark purple..

    I know, can't make head's or tails out of the clasp. These are the only photos.

    Long story short, they have not replied, so possibly sold already. If that changes, will report back!
