Featured What can anyone tell me about this SC brass? button / pin?

    I found this piece in a small box of old buttons. It is 1" across & has one of the screw on clasps on the back. I am not sure what it is made of, but it is not attracted to a magnet.
    Although it looks like it could be old, we all know that can be faked.

    Anytime I see S.C on a button, I think Civil War and South Carolina. I'm not an expert but the font seems more modern than that, as well as the button type if it is a button.
    Perhaps S.C stands for Santa Claus?
