Western Union telegraph call box help

    I can't find this number 4-A, that's on the back. The ones I'm finding are like 4-B, or 6-B, etc.
    So, it's either rare, (wink, wink:D, ha, ha), or I just don't know how to search very well.
    Would the 4-A help to date it as well?

    How does that work? What does it do? Should there be a handset attached?

    It's up your alley AF. It has a sort of clockwork mechanism. Triggering it sends a preset code.

    I doubt if you could sell it on ebay, they don't allow Western Union. :)

    I did find 2 of the 4-A in Completed Ebay auctions (No additional info)

    1 Sold for $27.10 (it was missing one knob from the handle)

    1 Sold for $50.00 (it was complete)

    That seems pretty clear, the notched countwheel is the pulse coder.
