West Virginia Souvenir Help

Good morning. I was hoping to get a little help with this guy. Is he some kind of farmer or Moonshiner or...? It's marked but I can't read it. Can't get a good photo of it either. I know it's a long shot, but I was hoping someone might recognize it. 6" tall. Thanks for taking a look and any help at all.

Looks right to me. West Virginia moonshine equipment.

Thanks for the replies. I did see a photo somewhere with a barrel on stilts. They were boiling molasses. Can't find it again

How deep is his barrel? Could there possibly have been a lid originally?

Many welcome centers & various attractions use to sell this sort of item to people visiting the location.

Depending on the answer to the above questions possibly a toothpick holder or possibly to hold honey, sugar, jam, etc.
