I have been buying, but keep forgetting to post. Oops. Anyhow, I bought a shed load last weekend, all at a quid a pop, including this oddity. I'm thinking early 20th. It's short, hand made. Those cream coloured stamen thingies are actually moulded onto thread.

Wow that is so interesting. I would have thought contemporary which is why I don't do jewelry lol! Are they acrylic? Not seed beads right? I think it is fun!

Are the yellow bits glass or plastic/celluloid?

The black leaves are glass. I can't work out what the yellow ones with the black tips are. They're all of a piece on stiff cotton (?) stems and look almost as if they've been dipped then varnished, then gathered into a cluster.

It definitely has age: the caps and barrel clasp for one thing, and the short length. Really well done too.

Isn't that unusual? I'd assume celluloid. Too short for 1920s. So 1930s/1940s. And given the rather drab colorway, I'd think earlier rather than later.

It might be celluloid, good thought. I did wonder Edwardian into 1910s, that choker thing.

A quick Google Images search can show you what type of necklaces were popular in the Edwardian era.

As long as they don't hatch, you're fine.

Interesting piece. The findings say older and that yellow color is dead bang for 1920s to early 30s. Once you put it with the black, I'd think 1925-1930.

OHO! Well done and thank you. Those clusters look very similar. I wonder how she attributed it.
