yeah Im pretty sure this is a modern reproduction. It looks like a cross between two modern asian imports: neundorf zeirporzellan has the crossed swords with the "L" character and one called "F C Imports" has the interlocking V and C charcaters. This mark has both. It still looks pretty nice.

I could write all I know about quality porcelain on the back of a postage stamp...and have room left to sign it!

But I'll bet dollars to donuts that ain't a reproduction. Even to my unskilled eye, there are many indications of quality extant on the piece.

If I'm wrong, though: please refer to the first paragraph of this post!

Would you be so good as to post about that exquisite blue pitcher in your first pic?

    Please, and Thank You!

and just to make our little survey complete here are the two repro/fake marks that I mentioned earlier, the neundorf and the FX:

so what my source refers to as "FC importer or wholesaler" the PMM site refers to as "FAC 1". And what my source refers to as "Neundorf Zierporzellan" PMM refers to as "unknown." Both of those are shown on the PMM link above.

the PMM link also shows two other Neundorf marks. I presume these are "authentic" because when I search for Neundorf on worthpt. these figurines do seem to look more european, and the listings say Neundorf was a real company. Some of the figurines are quite beautiful. So it might not be proper to call the swords with the "z" neundorf (as my source does) because neundorf seems to produce genuine european looking figures and has its own distinct marks.

As you look at the repros said to be from Asia, there are some elements that they have in common. The glaze seems to produce a matte finish, the colors are not shiny as the european ones are. Also the faces sort of seem asian. Also something about the way they are shaped, are the ridges softer?
