One of the last items to be looked at in detail, a box of mixed weights with some good points.

Nice example of an early trade label dating the box to about 1800-1820.

The whole box, a very utilitarian wooden box.

Possibly original to these balance scales.

with a mixture of mostly 19th C weights

often with some sort of official stamp

and unofficial on the apothecary weights

but the thing I was most pleased to see was a complete set of nested cup weights, because I have have seen many with a weight or two missing, most often the tiny one in the middle, and looking at ebay it is infested with modern Indian repro stuff being touted as antique/vintage. Not all that valuable, but I like them. Maker possibly from a tiny monogram, TR.

    Very nice, AF!

Not to quibble, but the one marked VR under crown would be from the reign of Queen Victoria, yes or no?

There are three varieties of the VR mark on these weights, two of them on one weight so they must have rechecked them now and again. Indeed it does indicate Victoria Regina.
