19 and a half by 26 inches. U.K. Charity shop buy today. I thought the painting seemed to be done by a confident hand and I liked its simplicity. Frame looks 80s/90s, the pencil writing refers to the frame type I think.
I can’t figure out the signature though. Any help please? Thanks.

Edward Wesson, and a well-known artist. It's nicely done.

Super piece-I tried watercolor painting as a student using one of his books as a coach (so did a lot of us).
The UK Charity Shops & treasure laden 'Boots' are legendary over here .:drowning::(:arghh:

I only went to the shop because the first jumble of the day was poor, I hadn’t been in that shop before and decided to fork out £5 for the painting. The next jumble wasn’t good either and I felt like I had wasted time and petrol. Feeling much better now!

I like the term "confident hand" . It is nice and loose. I too have watercolor books by him. Looks like it was done Plein Air. You can see his pencil sketch. I always admire those that can just "whip" out work like this. I have watched them in action and it is like the hand just knows what to do on its own!

A wet sketch piece. Nice! The mats look full of acid and need to be pulled before they do damage. Frame would need to be taped to prevent acid from it, and backing changed out. Treat your find to a glow up. :D

I agree. I’ve got a bevel mount cutter and acid free mountboard here.

Do you frame your own pieces ? Me too. Also good to have UV Resistant glass/film esp w/ watercolors. It's a def 'downer' to sacrifice a day of your life (& gas money) for nothing.

I just do mount cutting, I utilise wooden frames I can pick up from car boots and Charity shops for very little. I’ll get a frame and do an artwork to fit!

I've got a little miter/chop saw so i can cut frames down to size. You can blow lots of profit getting stuff professionally framed.I'll have to post some antique frames i've got at charity shops & fleas.
Love to see yr art sometime-i do it too.
