No signature found. Wonder if a location or at least a country of origin can be identified by the building's architecture. Don't know if the inscriptions on the tombstones are real or made up.
    Thanks in advance!

The architecture is about what you would expect from a 14th C English church, and if I were painting a similar scene I'd paint 'writing like' squiggles rather than trying to be a camera. Any graves that near to the porch would be among the oldest and liable to be illegible anyway. Looks like first half of 20th C, possibly 1920s

On (edited) second thoughts the dentil cornice and some other detail says it could be Victorian Perpendicular Revival. but what do I know?

    Thanks for the reply.
The cornice has faces molds. Wonder what is the symbolic meaning of the images above the door's arch. I see a ram ? on the top, bird, pegasus, sitting figure with crossed legs, two human figures next to each other, maybe a lion ...

    Hi,
The faces are Saints as to the figures, they all have meaning in church symbolism.
The one in the lower left corner looks like Agnus Dei. (lamb of God). It is a lamb carrying a flag.

Could be symbols of the apostles above the door. Looks more Romanesque than Gothic to me, but it could easily be some 19th C revival.

Musing here... Looks Romanesque to me as well. I would like to know what is on the door -- messages? Is one a window? And, for those of you who know, is that the "mellow Cotswold stone?" However, if it is, the condition of the churchyard is appalling! Most of that area has always seemed to be extremely neat and tidy...

Thanks for all the replies. No windows on the door. There are two notes but both illegible.

Look over all the gravestones carefully. That's the kind of place where painters like to hide their siggys.
