Greetings. I just got these and have no idea if it is water color or what it is. Prints? Each is about 8”x5” and come in this extravagant frame. Payed $4.50 each. Felt like I must have them. Cute little cherubs.

They appear to be interpretations of the Cupid Frieze in the House of Vettii, Pompeii.

The marbled mats points to Italy as well.

They look like gouache as the painting medium.

Does. Heavier than water color. And the word in left hand corner does appear to be "Pompeii."

I removed the painting from the frame, colors are very nice, bright, consistent, thick. Not sure how to explain. Well done. Not watery at all

Probably Someone purchased these while visiting Pompeii site, I’m sure there are lot of artists near by selling their works like at all famous tourist sites. They are well done, nice, but little creepy, just a little, probably because of the event itself.

Stylistically they remind me of the work of Michelangelo Maestri.
