Featured Was this little brooch used to hang a lady's watch?

I have this little gold brooch which I think has a finish called taille d' epargne, but please correct me if I am wrong. It has a loop dangle which moves slightly sideways in each direction and I was wondering if it might have originally been to hang a watch. It is about 1 1/4" long and 1 3/8' wide. It doesn't look very old in terms of wear but looks old in style. Thanks for looking.

 

Twenties into thirties back, and for a watch usually.

A Google Images search will bring up a surprising number of identicals. Being sold as anywhere between Victorian to Mid-Century. (Looks Victorian to my eye.)

Thanks @Debora, I always appreciate it when you weigh in. I had done a search and found similar, that's how I determined what to call the design but none noted that it was for a watch so that's why I came here for the information. It's style does look Victorian but the lack of wear and clasp doesn't.

 

I bow to those with superior knowledge as to age. Could always be revival.

There is indeed, that bow and the ball edging. My brain has forgotten the proper term. There’s some art deco overlaying the Victorian influence, it’s rather more squared off than a nineteenth century one would he.

This one is said to be Victorian from the 1950s. The market shows up more of these than I'd imagine for a small antique piece of jewelry. Dubious prices and colors shown all over the map though all seem to be in excellent condition. May be a later remake, impossible to tell despite your well-taken photos. However, I say this bc there is such a flood of them on the market and the link I posted seems to be done in 2 colors:

Agreed, it def looks like it was made to hang a pendant watch. Those became very popular (again) in the early 1970s in the USA. It would not surprise me if it's a vintage 1970s pin.
