Ward Brothers of Glasgow marks

    Hello Amazing Antiquers,

    I picked up this beautiful stag brooch and earring set today, and am having some difficulty confirming the dates.

    The brooch was made by Ward Brothers when they were in Glasgow, who were active in Glasgow in the 1940s and 1950s. The maker mark jives with this, as does the city mark.

    However, I can't confirm the date mark. I've checked the marks for Edinburgh for those dates, but I don't feel comfortable making a definitive call.

    I've not been able to find another similar brooch, let alone with matching earrings.
