Vtg Claw Hammer w very small 2-1/2" Red Hammer Head-Who is the maker?

    Hi guys,

    I have this vintage/antique claw hammer with a very small 2-1/2" red hammer head & would like to know Who is the maker, What type of hammer this is and what it is used for? I see the logo is an M in a triangle and it is imprinted "M tools" in the wood handle and says the price is .25 cents.

    Given it's size and that is cast iron, I would suggest a slab toffee hammer.

    I would suggest with over an 9 inch shaft and having a claw is bit too drastic for smashing toffee.:cool:

    I could see a hammer that size being for close work,like upholstery tacks or the like.

    How about considering the M stands for Maydole Hammer Factory or Mayhew Tools that took over Maydole?
