This statue seems pretty crude in some ways - it doesn’t sit flat and Jesus’ one arm seems to be in an odd position. Yet there are other parts that seem well crafted. I would appreciate your comments and thoughts regarding its production method and when it may have been made. I believe it is brass- I scratched the base and it appears gold in colour. It is not magnetic. The piece is 9” tall and weighs just over 3 pounds FF2A9919-80EE-44BB-882A-1E4C143A5EFA.jpeg 277AB843-4937-433B-8638-6065FF625E90.jpeg 5E76A897-01C4-4259-9DE7-30164DFB87FA.jpeg C6EE2E38-AED1-4C93-9796-3B95EA8349C6.jpeg D1EAFA08-F5CF-46B2-BD93-F939FDE16590.jpeg EC2DD8ED-8FC8-4F27-80C2-237CF01BA41C.jpeg 8FBA10AF-133F-43C3-A100-BE786B12EED9.jpeg . Um. Well. To me, Mary has a really lovely face, and Jesus looks more like a real baby than 99% of others I have seen.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

If that is a hole in the bottom, maybe it was originally attached to something that allowed it to stand?
