I'd agree on 1980s........those bows and the art deco inspired handles seem to be at odds......................

Bow reminds me of this popular TIFFANY item from the 1980s.

    Hi Debora,
I have that Tiffany box. I bought mine in 1978.

I don’t want to get too heavily into design history here but I believe that this is a early 20th century example of Futurism and in particular, Aero Ceramico. While related to Art Deco Futurism is meant specifically to violently express itself in all things mechanical and technical, rather than merely artistic.

Fascinating Walter, and since I totally respect your opinions, can you expound a little ? More than anything its the colors and lack of wear that made me think 80s deco .

Rarely do I write about Futurism as a) it was almost an All-Italian movement and b) it was politically motivated. Essentially the artist who survived World War I felt it necessary to tear down the entire world and then rebuild it. In their view salvation would come through the embracement of technology and science along with the complete abandonment of tradition. The works were produced mostly in the 1920’s and 30’s.

Is this part of a children's set? These pieces look a little on the small side in the pictures.

Thanks Walter. I do hope these are something good. The set is a little smaller then the norm.

Kraft, for what it's worth (probably not much!) the handles remind me of those on 1930's-1940's Akro Agate glass kids' tea sets:

Espresso cups usually hold 2 to 2.5 ounces each.
