Featured Vintage Montblanc Meisterstuck 149

Not quite an antique yet, but certainly vintage, and certainly a classic. I won this in a box-lot of pens earlier this week:

O, nice - that pen was the creme de la creme at local art supply stores (Flax) back in the 70s... I always wanted one.

Heh, and later too - sold them when I was a manager at Sam Flax in the late '80s-early '90s (I much preferred my sterling Waterman, but most wanted a Mont Blanc...)

Which one did you work at, Cheryl?

 

Sam Flax/Orlando (there's one in Atlanta too), part of the New York 'Sam Flax' stores. The various other Flax stores are all separate businesses, but owned by members of the same family - we did have some great gift stuff aside from the art & drafting supplies, and once they'd opened Kate's Paperie in NY, we also stocked some incredible decorative paper, Italian, Japanese, Indian, etc. - beautiful stuff...

Does the pen have silver bands or gold bands around the cap?
if silver you have a winner.
