Vintage Living Room Set Info / Maker ???

Could not find a good vintage forum so I will ask here and see if any one can tell us any thing about this furniture, got it used around 30 yrs ago, it's bent,curved laminated oak,well made,no markings any where that I can find. Thanks for any info.

Fabulous set! I love the lines. Id say it wasnt too old when you got it,could possibly be Danish but Im leaning more American.Id recover that set and keep it forever,I bet its sturdy as heck.

 

Agreed, it sort of has a 1970's, or early 80's vibe to it.

It looks well made and solid. The lines are attractive.

Can't help with maker. Maybe someone else will recognize the set.

(Dedkin, Just noticed that there were additional thumb nail photos -- maybe go back and edit/enlarge to "full size image" so they don't get missed. The way the springs are attached on the sofa might be a clue of sorts.)

 

My guess would have been early 80s. It looks well made.

 

Agree with the others. 80s and American made. The way the zigzag springs are used in the base makes me think this was not terribly expensive furniture when new.

 

Better than a lot of what's out there now however, especially anything in a flat pack.

 

And just to muddy the market further, I recently overheard some who study trends and fashions note the 1960s-70s revival is done, that clothing and personal style is taking a note from the 1980s, and interior decor shall soon follow.......................a la the Reagan era.

It was already headed that way anyway, and has been for a while. Clothing designers have been picking up 80s influences for a few years already. Just please God no big hair or linebacker shoulder pads! Or black lacquer furniture.

Please, just a gentle reminder ladies - not all hips are enhanced by a peplum..............
