I like to follow LiveAuctioneers to check prices!!! However did you or anyone see what the Buyers Premium is up to now??????????? Like 25%....yikes!!!!!
Seems like only a week or two ago it was at 17%, and I thought THAT was high......but then, I'm not buying & haven't noticed other auction houses' BPs either!!!

 

25 is not as high as some others.....
everyone today wants to make up for the pandemic......

 

On another note. I have a supposedly rare and somewhat valuable book. I contacted a specialist rare book trader/dealer regarding it. They noted that they could possibly facilitate a sale. But at 50% of the selling price. That shocked me (it just sounds ridicules to me) But they obviously have the required select client base and contacts. Just made me wonder if 50% commission is the norm when it comes to rare book sales?

I get that and I understand that it is a more specialised niche market.. But sh@t 50%,that’s heavy.. Anyway

 

yes it is...........!!!....... tooooooooo heavy to bear !

 

It will definitely hurt the bottom line.. But then again I seriously doubt that I (on my own) will be able to get it in front of the ‘right’ people/collectors
