Hello, perhaps someone knows approx value of this brooch. It looks very unique to me. It has a very vague marking on the back that looks like JG, but not sure. See pix.

Spanish. I’d suspect seventies. Given the subject matter is rather gruesome, that’s going to restrict value, sadly.

    Do you think it’s gold?

Between the rhinestones on the front and the "greenies", I really doubt it.

Can we see a photo of the entire piece from the back?

Here it is. And there is no greenies. That’s a reflection. Yeah I don’t think it’s gold either. Just a unique brooch. As I haven’t found anything like it online. IMG_9418.jpeg

A little hard to see from the photo, but if the stones (rhinestones?) are glued in, not set, almost certainly not gold.

It sure looks like there is a name on the back. Tina, can you make any of it out?

The photo at the top is the very best one I could make with a magnifying app.

Don't see anything that looks like a JC here.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

NOPE, not here either, WITH my sharpening, contrasting, enhancing or desaturation!!!! I couldn't pull much out of it...........sort of top row, something looks like a B or D, then A or R.....then going into the smoother portion...I can see what looks like letters, but couldn't define them..............

I'm with the others, not gold.
Ditto. The bull already has the banderillas stuck in his neck, a particularly cruel stage of the 'fight'.
This was made when there were still enough people in Spain who didn't object to bull fighting, or even liked it. Maybe 60s-70s, corresponding with the style as well.

Just being frank: If Tina were to offer it for sale, she would have to work very hard to find a buyer. And since it isn't gold, it has no melt value.

I agree re dates. 1960s-1970s. And while theme Spanish, I very much doubt Spanish-made as Spain produced very few consumer goods in those years and what they had were of poor quality (due to recovery from civil war, Franco's closed borders to imports, lack of a middle class, etc.)

I like the pin. It’s unique and I’m not selling it. But I got it for like a dollar and would love to know what it’s actually worth.
