Vintage auto insignia ID

    Saw this as scrap metal (where it belongs) but didn't recognize the company that used this insignia. Maybe someone knows? Center part should hinge up, though it is stuck. Guessing it looks like it is from a mid-20th century auto, maybe a door handle (should be clearer if we can find the car it was on)? If not from a car, what could it be?
