Victorian gold plate CT mark

    I'm sure I've seen this on fobs, umbrella handles, cane tops, gentleman's knives, etc

    I am pretty sure that is Victorian style. Possibly second half of the 20th C.

    ct on earlier stuff usually means carat. C.T. is probably a maker's mark.

    Could it be "G.F." for gold-filled?

    That's not a mark in the center - just random scrapes

    Thanks - I think that's period, rather than revival. And I agree, it may well say GF.

    The wear on the back looks more like worn plating.

    Also it is aesthetically inadequate for a Victorian piece. That centre is boring.

    Nearly all the time these pieces are found with three fancy initials engraved there
