Featured Victorian (?) beaded butterfly piece, any ideas where it would have gone?

Hello all! Picked up this pretty piece recently. It is a little worn (but it deserves to be for it's age I think ) Black glass beads and dangles. It appears to have been an adornment, perhaps on a dress? Hoping you may have a little more insight into age eg. Victorian or Edwardian perhaps? and where it might have been sewn into in its previous life? Thanks a lot.
