  1. Good evening,
I don's know if this is the correct forum for such an item?
I know this doll is at least 80 years old and probably dutch...

Is she possibly wax? (her nose?)
Some will know by the hat and costume... Sweet :)

She does look sweet! How tall is she? Are there any markings on her body? Sometimes it's at the back of the neck or further down.

As Migg said .. check the back of her neck and shoulders for any makers marks. She has a bisque face and possible composition body .. you really need to get her clothes off so that we can get a better look at her. Her hands are poorly formed and she was most likely an inexpensive doll in her day, often referred to as a dollhouse doll. Other than that she is very sweet and wears her original clothes. As these dolls were produced inexpensively for the masses she will likely be impossible to identify unless she has some kind of a mark on the back of her head or neck. As I said .. she is a sweetheart, ... Joy.

I hope this helps? I can't make out what it says in the neck. I can't pull the hair up any higher without damage and I can't get the skirt and underpants off either.

    Says Germany
Looks like there is another word above Germany. Maybe someone will recognize the script without you having to damage the hair.

    I agree with Joy.........

One can't damage anything by gently raising the hair to read what is there. Wigs can always be re-glued.

In more expensive dolls, removing the wig to inspect the head is often done.

It would also have to be done to reset fallen eyes in other dolls. In this case however, the eyes are painted.

What is that loop on the back of the doll?

It almost looks like it's there to hang the doll?

Her whole body is very cheaply made, possibly from
'carton' (cardboard) .. I get the feeling that the hook is there for hanging on a Christmas tree .. raise her hair up and read any other markings on her .. also what is her size ?? .. we need a bit more info. I doubt that she was ever really played with, her construction wouldn't hold for very long, more likely an ornament as her condition and clothing are very good for her age, she's lovely in her own right .... Joy. :):):)
