3BF647D9-6D0A-4532-82F4-3E321E66DDE9.jpeg I found these vases in my moms estate with note sent from a serviceman to her from Korea F8923224-B036-4BA3-AA72-9F4999409121.jpeg in 1957. Are these something I should have appraised?

Wondering where your mother was living at the time and what country the serviceman was from? Not that servicemen couldn't have been in Korea in '57 but the war ended in '53.

Probably a souvenir sent home to a friend or loved-one. Pretty but probably not worth having appraised.

    Welcome Schugi.
The photo of the vase itself is very dark, but it looks like Japanese ginbari enamel, which is enamel with foil decoration. Check prices for 20th century ginbari enamel vases on the internet.

She was living in northeast US. He was also from NE US. I’m only going by a note she attached to the items. She might have been off by a few yrs. when writing the note.

Oops, I only saw 'metal' in the first photo. Sorry about that, Schugi. As I said, the photo of the vase itself is pretty dark.

Is lacquerware desirable for collectors ? I don’t know anything about Asian vases

Some lacquerware does well on ebay, but there's several factors involved in what does well.

Your vase is saleable, but I wouldn't expect a whole lot for it. Look up some lacquerware vases on ebay in the sold section to see what you could get for it.
