I love wicker, but know nothing. Are there any ways to determine vintage vs newer?? I picked up this set and love it!! Thinking about reupholstering the cushions to something prettier...thoughts?? 20240108_132252_copy_1000x450.jpg

Fun find. Newer rather than older I'd think. Let's see what others have to say. Re cushions, I think you could do almost anything.

I agree that it's likely newer. This is just the style that's available now and in recent years.
Cushions... my personal preference is for "understated elegance" but tropical patterns could be fun, too!

Perhaps in a solid with throw pillows in a coordinating print.

Just an opinion...I think you oughta get wild!
Tropical or beyond, as far as color splash. Go. For. It.!

Let's face it, wicker furniture is supposed to be fun. Where will you put it? if outside or on screened in porch, I would say one of those fun/new Sunbrella fabrics with coordinating cushions would be great. In a color to match its surrounding decor. Nice pieces! But definitely those mud brown cushions are not very fun.

Thanks everybody!! I usually buy things to flip, rarely do I keep stuff.....but IDK, maybe this one will stay?? Now that I know it's not "old" & I won't be "ruining anything", I'm going to get creative with the cushion fabrics! Who knows, maybe we'll Keep?? But, it would be going on our covered back deck (not screened in)....I'm a little hesitant because it would have to come in every Fall most likely, we just get too much moisture and weather to keep out year round, and I don't have a great spot for storage....so it may go. Regardless, it'll be fun!!
