My eyes widen when I spotted this in the lower display case at the Discovery Shop. Green cut to clear decanter with a Val St Lambert label - A fine piece of crystal from Belgium here in Southern California!!!!! It is 11" tall.

When I got it home, I figured it would be easy to find out how old it was because it had a label. I did find something similar on Worthpoint and Etsy but I couldn't find a resource for determining dates from labels. It is already tucked away in my permanent collection :):):), but if you have any notion about its age or any other comments it would be very much appreciated.

I did try to post this earlier, but I was told to pet cats versus join my friends on the Antiquers Forum.

The second time I asked it was also a big nope.

She hopped on while I was putting the decanter away. I returned to find her sitting on the keyboard and screaming "Pets Now!"

They keyboard was probably warm and a guaranteed spot to get a scritch. She's not dumb.

Cosette ripped out two keys from an earlier laptop. I tried to get it fixed and the computer shop* said that I had to replace the entire lower portion of the laptop and it was cheaper just to replace the computer. She was jealous.
*They don't sell computers, only fix them.

A quick internet search of sticker design seems to date it to the 1960s.

The moral of that story: don't mess with Cosette!

Great. I couldn't find that. Thank you. Did you use the sticker for the search. I just asked about label history.

She reminds me of my dearly missed Bitty. He was Siamese.I dont know why they have a reputation of being stand offish,he was a love junkie. That decanter is gorgeous.

They demand pets 24/7 at the top of their lungs. Overbred Classic Siamese destroyed Siamese cats. Siamese cats were very popular before the breeders started with the new colors, the skinny legs and the pointy faces. They bred out the intelligence, the calmness and loving disposition in order to produce the exotic looks. Mine are traditional Siamese who I got based on their personality. I do have to hide the glass bits though.
I fell in love with the decanter too.

Agree on the mid 20th century date. Wonderful piece!

And why has nobody commented on the house? Just beautiful!!

Thank you for your confirmation. The original stained fir trim and open feel was why I fell in love with my house when I bought it. It's taken a lot of work to get it into the state it is in now, but as you know having an historic house, by the time you finish you have to start all over again. :)
