I got these the other day along with a US Army field jacket and a belt and officers coat.
They where all in a bag at thrift store. Since I have a hard time seeing good, I can only read some of the writing on inside back pocket flap patch,
    ( Trousers Combat ????????????????????????????????? ) .
I am thinking 1960's or so, US Army or other ? Any ideas on these anybody ?

    Thank You

BDUs didn't start until the '80s.

85 is in the code there so I'd suggest then.

You can probably find a timeline on patterns too.

    Search 'US camouflage patterns' :)
You could even add the word timeline.

I think I see -85 at end of contract number, so made in 1985. Above that you see “Defense Personnel Support Center” which existed in Phila. Under that particular name only from 1965 until 1993. They were the successor to the Quartermaster Depot. With most any post-wwii US military gear, finding the year within the contract number is almost always the quickest way to date something.

The pattern was this from about 1982 to 1991. The pants were $45 in 1983. You'd be lucky to get $10 for an unworn pair now. I'm still wearing mine from 1982.

Hubby retired in 2006 and still has a closet full of uniforms, some like this. They never wear out.
