Uppsala 13th cent chair

    Gamla Uppsala" (historic Uppsala) in Sweden with its 13th century church and a 12th cent bishop's chair. To me it resembles a Moroccan piece,most likely because if the spindles.
    NOTE-I don't own this piece.

    Isn't that interesting? (If Moroccan, I'd expect horseshoe arches.)

    Ditto Debora-It also looks like it's perhaps been heavily restored (800 yr old piece ?)
    Also in the same church is this 12th cent tree trunk alms chest (partial limb still attached-like a Hobbit piece !).
