Unmarked that I can see but tests as silver so suspect 800 or less but is it representative of a region or just a bloke/girl in a shed?!.
Too big to fit a wrist and although springy too small for a neck!
    Thanks :)

And whilst I’ve got you here- another oddity - peach stones and mother of pearl- common or was someone having a ‘let’s try a new combo’ sort of day?

    kyratango Bug jewellery addiction!

Upper arm bracelet seems the only reasonable option for use:joyful:

The combo MOP/peach stones makes me think someone had a romantic dinner with her lover and wanted to keep souvenir;):hilarious:

Jivvy the research is my favorite

Upper arms seems most sensible to me, but ankle could be another possibility (although, I have not taken the time to convert the measurement to inches, so ignore this if I'm way off :joyful: )

Yes, could go round an ankle!.
Its just weird isn't it. To think someone went to quite a lot of effort to make it and stood back and thought they'd done a good enough job to unleash it onto the unsuspecting jewellery wearing public. And possibly someone actually paid money for it......

I don't think the size the first piece is now is the size it was made to be. The spacing no longer looks regular, more like someone has untwisted it a bit, causing it to stretch out in places, like a Slinky that gets tangled on itself & is never the same again.

The second one was a "style" for a while in the late 60s or early 70s. I've seen similar before. It may have been commercially made.

Having had a Google there are some very expensive carved peach stone necklaces.
OH has offered to do a job on mine :hilarious:.
I think I may add it to my next 'vintage joblot' to make sure it's enjoyment is spread far and wide. I often wonder if there are bits of jewellery that have more frequent flyer miles than any of us as they get passed on so often. Like the bottle of strawberry wine I won at the school tombola last year from a company that went out of business 15 years ago- how many times had that been donated?. I broke the chain and tipped it down the sink and it was about 80% proof.
    I digress........

Some costume jewelry must have circled the globe about three times without anyone ever wearing it.
