Any leads on this 1970s pitcher with signature? Approx 7" tall. Thanks!

Also looks like "Doris" etched in, photo below:

The signature looks a bit home grown, but this is such a different style 70s piece. Curious if anyone recognizes as a known maker.

The mold line on the bottom would suggest the greenware (ceramic that has not been fired yet) was mass produced. The amatuerish signature would also suggest it might be from one of those "decorate your own" pottery shops which were popular in the 1960s - 70s -

"In the second half of the 20th century, a new mass-market type of ceramic hobby industry grew. In the "greenware" business, the customer goes to a shop which supplies raw unfired pieces, along with decorating materials, tools, firing, communal work space, and lessons. The shop owner slip-casts the pieces on-site, using a wide variety of molds purchased from manufacturers and dealers. Most of the pieces are decorative kitsch of one kind or another. The customer cleans the seams of the greenware, decorates it with underglazes and glazes, and the shop does the firing. In the 1960's-70's, every town had a ceramics shop like this, either in a storefront or in the home of a hobbyist-turned-store owner. (At one time it was, some claimed, the biggest hobby in America.) The greenware shop fulfilled a social function, as "classes" became a regular weekly "girls' night out". Again, manufacturers responded by producing molds, slip, decorating material, and affordable electric kilns."

That's exactly what the signature reminded me of, too! But the wild pattern and texturing on the piece made me hesitate. Would these molds have the option to add texture? It looks somewhat professionally done. A few more pictures:

Is that signature under the glaze?

I have one of these. Different glaze, but definitely the same base.

Mine was found in a Canadian thrift store, but unfortunately, I was unable to find any information on it online. Not sure if this will help anyone else, but might as well throw another picture in to the mix:

This is the only picture I have at the moment. The bottom has a weird initial I cannot interpret and a "78", which I assumed was for 1978 (both under the glaze).

Yes, the name "doris" seems to be etched in.

Ah, the plot thickens! Definitely the same shape!

Seeing a 2nd one makes me think maybe a mold/kit as suggested? Both so modern looking and well done though!
