Unusual glass vase - mouldy outside effect?!

    Hi,

    Any ideas on what the finish is on this glass vase?

    Vase is of a green glass construction and Inside is smooth and clear, however the outside has a rough mouldy looking finish which is flaking off in areas.

    It's a big piece at 38cm tall.

    Interested if anyone can give me any info on it.

    Might be Cenedese or Scavo but I have also seen some new pieces passed off as Ancient Roman glass. What does the bottom look like?

    Thanks for coming back to me. Bottom has same effect but top and inside are a normal smooth glass finish. 20240717_144949.jpg

    Thats newish and that finish was only popular briefly .

    Copy of ancient Roman glass. Some was made on Murano but LaFiore Mallorca also make them. Scavo is a technique, Cenedese is a maker.
