I found this today - it came in with the unusual crocodile man statue I asked about earlier today. I'm pretty sure it holds a cross up - it has the grooves to fit a flat one in it - but where would they use it?
    Is that what it is?
It has a sticker on the bottom saying who restored it - the faces are beautiful! - but there is no company mark or logo anywhere that I can find; was it custom made for a particular project?
Any idea how old it is?
    Thank you for any help!

Maybe it's a figure from the 14 stations of the cross? Some churches have life size versions.

At the 13th station Jesus was taken down from the cross and given to his mother.

    Sorry I forgot measurements. It's not big enough to be life size - 13" W x 12" H
I'm not sure what it a made of - plaster? I only know it's heavy!

Isn't terra cotta red - it's not (but for the value of one in link you shared I might find a small spot and scrape it to see what's underneath!
Both have beautifully done faces with so many details - even blood spots from the crown of thorns.
    Thank you

Terra cotta is reddish but I do see red if the color on my monitor is close. Not sure if it's from the repair or not though. I see various spots on the base, I circled a few, and places on the front such as his nose. I think.

I wonder if you called the restoration company if they would be able to tell you what was done and more about it.
