Unsigned Oil - Maybe some clues on back

Here's a nice little oil on board about 20 X 25 cm. No signature, but a quality work I think.

There are some clues on the back. The location is indicated, and some other things.

Anybody recognize the artist?

 

Monhegan Island is a mecca for artists, both professional and amateur. Have you tried searching for an L Agnew?

 

Yes, I tried to search for L Agnew, no luck so far.

I did a search for Monhegan Island, looking for paintings that looked like this one. So far I found a lot of samples of Abraham Bogdanove's work that look very similar. But as you point out, there could be many artists that have painted scenes on that island that look like this one.

 

Looking at the rocks it appears to be by a beginner. Probably an artist who liked to paint in their free time.
