Looks hand-painted. Some artisan bought a blank vase and had at. Did a nice job too.

Hello Paula. For future reference, your images are too small to get the best view and therefore the best information from the members. When uploading to attach, you should click on the Full View button. As it is your images in this case are not as large as is allowed anyway. 1MB is about 4 times larger than these.

Hello @Paula Roberts & welcome to the forum!!:happy:

If you could go back & check show the full image that would help a lot & also if we could see the bottom of the vase.

You might want to copy and save this for reference for a while....it helps when you're new!!!

For Future reference, when posting images:

Each image MUST be UNDER 1 MB....
There are instructions on site here on how to reduce the size of your image, if that is the problem......you are allowed up to 10 images per post!!! Here are some links to the instructions:

Try emailing them to yourself as "medium" size, they should then be under 1 MB!

    If on the computer:

As an added note, when you have your photos LISTED, BUT BEFORE you hit POST, please click on the wording that says to "INSERT EVERY IMAGE AS FULL IMAGE" !! That way, we're not clicking on little thumbnails, but get to see all of the images full sized!! Thanks! Remember, it takes a bit for MOST new members to get the hang of it, but it's really quite simple once you get used to it!!!" If you still have questions, DON'T hesitate to ASK!!!!

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Inverted & contrasted......Does what looks like "20X" mean anything of significance?

I am inclined to agree with @evelyb30 that this is likely a hobbyist-painted piece. You can look closely around the design as many of the folks who did this would sign their pieces with their initials & sometimes the year on the bottoms but it could be somewhere in the design.

If the 20 X is impressed, it could simply be a style or size designation by whatever company made the blank (plain white vase). Actually, it could also be that even if the 20 X is applied.
I agree that it looks hobbyist-painted.
