Unmarked metallic gravyboat

    Is it pewter? I polished it because it had an ugly patina, sort of an oil-slick colour, or silver tarnish.

    Age? Where was it possibly manufactured?

    Sure looks like pewter to me.

    Either pewter or badly used hotel plate (which is what the form suggests to me)

    I forgot to mention:
    It's small for a gravy boat, about 3 x 4 inches. Does that mean anything I'm particular?

    Could be an individual creamer missing the sugar.
    I agree with Mansons that it is hotel plate.
    Generally heavier metal with a heavier plating process to withstand constant use.

    Another possibility for the size is "sauce boat" like for au jus.

    If it's hotel plate, it would make sense it had such an unusual look prior to being polished. It looked like tarnished silver, not anything like patinated pewter.
