Hello all! Today we bring you this wood plane. We are not sure of the style or maker of this piece- there are no markings, but it appears American. Any info on this piece would be appreciated, such as the style or maker!

We changed the brightness and contrast of these photos to make it easier to see the details. Hopefully this will help a bit! DSC_1866.JPG DSC_1867.JPG

It looks like a version of the Stanley Bailey # 5......but the front plate and screw knob differ.....

Looks very similar but then again most antique jack planes look very similar. I don't think it's a stanley because most of theirs had markings. I have a miller's fall plane that looks similar but all millers fall tools have (permanent) markings. :)

    I said a version...but didn't mean to say it was by Stanley...

Usually the irons will have marks. Usually near the top, on either side. It may be small and/or faint. Of course, irons can be sometimes switched between planes.

Hey all, thank you for the valuable info. @komokwa it looks like the middle one of #4 for sure. We were not able to find any markings on the irons, although there is one "made in USA" marking on the main metal portion. @Steersman @Any Jewelry thanks!
