Unknown bowl

    Good day
    This bowl always intrigued me. It seems old with hand painted/stamped design. I can't find any markings on it

    Stenciled? I would guess Japanese first, but I wouldn't lock that in.

    I think, "stick sponge" is the term for the technique of applying the glaze for the repetitive design. "Stick sponged", "sponge ware", spongeware.
