2d5c3a4.jpg This bowl was netted (fished) in the area where the Adriatic, Mediterranean, and Ionian seas meet. It was fished in 1980, and appears to be made of terracotta, it has a shiny finish on it, and is about 8 or 9 inches in diameter. It has some type of design or lettering that is in a dark brown color. Could it be Ancient Roman, Greek, or Egyptian? Or is it not?

A photograph of its full shape along with one of its bottom would be helpful.

    Albania or Italy?
It looks like a local bowl, could be 50 years old and be covered like that.
It could have been lost from a local fishing boat in a storm. Look for the origin on the coast closest to where it was found. If it is not local, then look further along both coasts.
If you live in the region, you could ask a local historian or folklore expert.

Yes I agree. But the material looks very old for 50 years. The inside feels shiny, almost a polished feeling to it. The bottom feels like either Terracotta or clay.
